I. Solodov - Mechanical and acoustical resonances for recognition and imaging of defects

wébinaire

Le 20 septembre 2022 de 11h00 à 12h00

Igor Solodov / Université de Stuttgart

The topics planned to be discussed are as follows :

  • What makes planar defects, like delaminations and cracks, resonant ? Lump and wave models of Local Defect Resonance (LDR).
  • Effect of defect shape : Classical Rayleigh method for LDR fundamental frequencies
  • Case studies of highly-sensitive defect imaging via LDR
  • Nonlinear LDR modes : Superharmonic, combination frequency and parametric LDR
  • Case studies of defect-selective low-power nonlinear defect imaging
  • Resonant Acoustic Emission (RACE) by defects : Simulation and validation
  • RACE for ”listening” of defects : Scanning, robotic and full-field imaging modes.
