The main tasks of the Software Engineer will be to

• Consolidate and extend the existing GUI
• Improve the numerical performances with an optimization of the existing data-structures and with the current parallelization strategies
• Packaging the prototype for different platforms (Linux, Windows, MacOs).
• Contribute to the communication with the creation of a dedicated web-site
• Contribute to case studies and value-added strategy

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EDUCATION & RESEARCH REQUIREMENTS

Your profile :

• PhD or Master’s degree in computing science or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in object-oriented languages including Java or C++ and versioning tool such as Git
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Knowledge of GUI design
• Appetency for HPC or numerical simulation for engineering
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team

The LMA is part of the Institute of Mechanics and Engineering of Aix Marseille University which bring together 200 researchers with a high level of expertise in solid and fluid mechanics and develops many industrial collaborations with major companies.

This position if for 18 months, the applicant will be hired by the CNRS with a salary between, € 2,200 and € 2,700 (depending on profile and experience).
