Marine acoustics and seismic imaging

The researches in this theme have roots in both acoustics and geophysics. They aim a solving present and future scientific bottlenecks in the field of environment (Ocean and Earth). Using high performance computing and real data obtained either in the field or in the lab at reduced scale, these researches try, on the one hand, to understand and model in a realistic way wave propagation in natural environments, and, on the other hand, to optimize imaging in these environments. The main applications are seismic exploration and the impact of underwater noise pollution on marine ecosystem.
